Every child has their own spark as they learn to read. This assessment helps us understand how to nurture that spark with the right support. In a relaxed, one-on-one session, we explore your child’s reading development across all the foundational skills they need to thrive. This includes: • hearing and working with sounds in words (phonemic awareness) • connecting letters and sounds, including blends, digraphs, and vowel patterns (phonics) • figuring out unfamiliar words using decoding strategies • recognizing common and high-frequency words automatically (sight words) The process feels more like a friendly literacy game than a test, helping children feel comfortable and confident as they show what they know. You’ll receive a clear summary outlining your child’s reading strengths, areas for growth, and practical next steps to keep their learning moving forward, whether at home or through targeted literacy support.
